and finishes here, since, I did not want to stink up Max’s site, with the mad ravings of a “Theocrat”. It is amazing what people can read into words, intended or not, I admit, when I responded to his suggested ‘solution’ to the problems of the Rightful Liberty movement, I was a bit too succinct and harsh. I was having a shitty day, literally…
We take this up here, as a response to Max Velocity, a person I respect, highly, as a writer and a physical warrior. His post, a petition of grievances, could also be construed as a declaration of war… use the above link to read my comment, and his response, where he accuses me of being a ‘Theocrat’. We take this up here, from my follow up comment below…
Thank you for the honor of a reply.
I deeply, and sincerely apologize, you’re right. I woke up sick, and still am, I offer this not as an excuse, but a reason for my poorly chosen words, and that they were not deliberate as I have always highly respected you based on your writing, and should have kept that in mind. However, from the tone, and content of this post, it is hard to determine what you are for and against. Oh, I get what you are trying to accomplish, but, are you ‘petitioning’ or declaring war? Either could be construed. But first, you must know thy enemy. They, will consider this a declaration of war, so tread lightly. It is like the definition of liberty and pornography, you have a hard time putting it into words, but you know it when you see it. One man’s liberty, is another man’s tyranny.
I will not stink up your post any further, with any long winded explanations or discourse, which, you will probably get angry about, again, simply because I can see, you love the ‘Dream’ and structures you were indoctrinated into, and I, have outgrown them. One day, when you grow old(if you grow old), you will see that ‘power’, is the only argument worth having in defining the concept of liberty. So I will take this up on my blog, and give a fuller response to your thought provoking piece.
God bless, and good day.
(Now, to continue, I really don’t know why I bother, the thought, that a constitutional convention, could succeed in anything but a self destructive Kabuki circus, considering what The Establishment will do to it, is ludicrous. This was laid out in the Kabuki dance in the theater of the damned, but also, a strategy for countering them. Unfortunately, there is no Rightful Liberty, or Patriot ‘movement’, there are only a bunch of individuals with as many differing opinions, we, are like a herd of cats. The Left, is akin to a thundering herd of buffaloes. Who, do we think will run over whom? Remember, in this country, those who VOTE for a living, now outnumber those who WORK for a living. Think about the ramifications of that tiny stat. With that said, I will confine my remarks in three parts, to; Convention, Liberty, and Theocracy.)
Article 5 CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION; The CON-CON.
(The following is not my ‘opinion’, but, my agreement in a sort of amalgam of many opinions, voiced over the last few years on this subject. No references, just memory… if you wish, do your own research.)
you are technically correct, but philosophically wrong. Your premise is based on the concept that an article 5 convention, can ‘restore’ constitutional government and ‘Rightful Liberty’. Let me disabuse you of the notion of why you are right and elucidate at length upon why you are wrong.
You are technically correct. The only thing that can bring Washington DC to heel, is an Article 5 Convention of states… called by “The Several States”(the state legislatures). To reassert THEIR power over Washington, since, WE created the Federal Leviathan, and only WE can put it down. It is the only moral(political) level of war that actually frightens The Establishment. But, just because of that, I have now come to the conclusion that it would be a disaster. That is where you are wrong, philosophically, and failing to think it through. (You even admitted not knowing how delegates were chosen, so bear with me.)
First, in today’s media circus environment, just The Process of calling a convention and electing delegates would destroy the country, it would also turn America into a complete and utter laughing stock to the rest of the world. Each of the states, would become a Kabuki circus, as potential delegates swarm them, even Rush Limbaugh,George Cloony, celebrities galore would/could want to be a delegate. Would star power or money rule the day? Both probably, that’s how it works, that’s how delegates will be chosen, especially if referendums are demanded. But, that would also be a part of THE PROCESS. Imagine the circus of 50 potential celebrity delegates running in a referendum…, and that’s just one state. I forgot, is it 38 states required, just to CALL a CON-CON?
Then there is the issue of organizing the convention itself. This process is controlled by CONGRESS… who, would probably demand that it be held IN CONGRESS. But, would the Several States allow it? Would factions break off demanding an ‘organizing mini convention’, in order to plan the convention? Would the left and the right, the tea party and greens, the single issue groups, have any sway on the organizing of the convention itself? How long would it take to organize a CONCON, a constitutional convention? What effect would the army of lobbyists have? Would special rules be needed to ban the old power brokers from attending? If you don’t, you’re doomed from the start.
If called, Washington itself would gridlock into convention mode, it would be demanded that the ‘old government’ sit on its hands until The People have spoken. Swift descent into chaos would follow, the stock market would also enter into chaos as the circus news of the day sends the ticker zooming and crashing. The dollar would crash into toilet paper, and then the economy, and then the dollar would lose its standing as the global reserve currency. Then, the country would fragment along state and ethnic lines, and the old confederacy, would reassert itself. I assure you, people around here still hate General Sherman, and pray that; “The South shall rise again.” The distrust of the Federal government runs wide and deep. We still venerate old confederate war memorials. Those progressives who removed the confederate battle flags from General Lee’s sepulcher, would find themselves hanging along with those six black students who were offended at Washington and Lee University. The progressives would suddenly find their treatment of southern heritage, to be their undoing as ancient passions are loosed by the broken bonds that have held them in check for so long.
When convened, even before the gavel falls calling the delegates to order, the outside of whatever facility, will be an ocean of people. It will be surrounded by rings of different colored uniforms. Police, Federal agents, and most likely, military, national guard, and private and state militias guarding delegations. Because nobody will trust anybody, the passions of the animal that lurks beneath the veneer of all civilization, will come through in waves of street marches, for and against the issues of the day. There will be groups whose entire purpose will be to prevent the convention, disrupt it, or destroy it. Make no mistake, somehow, somewhere, almost before it starts, it will be a bloody mess once the people are told; THE STAKES in The Game.
The Federals themselves, cannot be a part of the process, because, they have the most to lose. Name your favorite department or bureaucracy, and they are all on the table. They all have a stake in losing their seat on the gravy train. So The Federals would be the highest suspect in any false flag operations, I can imagine seeing entire state delegations wiped out, simply because everybody knows, ‘they’ are all against <name your issue/cause/department/bureaucracy>. The are also the ones, with the most to gain if the process is disrupted into civil war. For make no mistake, this would raise the passions of the people beyond the level of reason. And if disrupted by party or parties unknown, it will be, in the words of John Wayne; “Katie bar the door”.
If, by some grace of God, you manage to gavel the delegates to order, remember this, you are gaveling ‘Law’ itself into a near state of being null and void. If you elect enough untainted ‘good guys’ as delegates(that are not bought and paid for by The Establishment), then the Convention itself would immediately descend into floor fights. No amendments could be adopted without(probably literal), blood on the floor. If the Establishment buys a majority of the delegates, then you, and all of us, have lost the whole ball game because we would lose the existing constitutional structure altogether. So, one way or another, America would, for all intents and purposes, cease to exist. The history of empires should give you a clue, that once an empire collapses, regardless of why, the people lose faith in not only the government, but the structure of government… democracies tend to collapse into dictatorships. Once the constitution and the dollar has ‘failed’, publicly, catastrophically, and completely, there will be little to put back together. This is why my last musing on this subject, reached the conclusion, that the only way to save some semblance of who we are, is to propose the Amendment of Dissolution. At the end of a long floor fight, it may be the only thing all the totally exhausted delegates will agree on, is to just ‘End It’.
